Your data, in plain English.
Last updated October 2026. This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who I am
Barry O'Connor Design is run by Barry O'Connor, based in Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland. I'm the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You can contact me at hello@barryoconnordesign.com.
What I collect and why
When you fill in a form (a call request, a free brand review or the launch checklist download), I collect what you type: your name, email address, and any details about your business, website and challenges. I use it only to reply to you, arrange a call or send your review. If you tick the box on the checklist form, I'll also send you the occasional email about branding a new business; you can unsubscribe at any time, and that is based on your consent. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Analytics, only if you agree. If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, Google Analytics sets cookies to tell me how people use the site, such as which pages are visited. If you click "No thanks", no analytics cookies are set. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
The site's fonts are hosted on this site itself, so no data is sent to font providers when you visit.
Who processes it for me
Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics, only when you've given consent.
My email provider stores the emails I send and receive.
I don't sell your data, and I don't use it for marketing unless you've asked to hear from me.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. If we work together, I keep project correspondence for as long as I'm required to for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or receive a copy. Just email me. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission.
