Crafting the visual Identity design for The Design Corner
The Design Corner is a network of independent craft designers, makers and creators, supported by the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Local Enterprise Office. They wanted to establish a strong visual identity for the brand. The design work on the branding project included logo design and development, graphic design, promotional and marketing design, identity guidelines, e-commerece website design and overall brand strategy.
The challenge
The main challenge was to create a new logo and visual identity that would captured the essence of The Design Corner, while also incorporating the visual identity of the Local Enterprise Office. We wanted to ensure that the identity would be instantly recognisable, visually appealing, and reflective of the brand's values and personality.

The solution
To create an identity that accurately represented The Design Corner and reflected the values and personality of the brand we began by conducting a discovery and research sessions with all stake holders. This involved understand their vision, goals and objectives for the new entity. We also conducted researching into their target audience and competitors to get a feel for the marketplace the new brand was going to compete in. Once we had completed the strategy phase we began the creative process.
We began the creative process with visual exploration and research by brainstorming ideas and concepts for the look and feel of the new logo and visual identity. Once we had a range of concepts, we refined and developed them into a selection of potential designs to present to the client.
The final design concept for The Design Corner draws inspiration from simple geometric shapes combined to form the silhouette of the letter D. The integration of these shapes not only reflects the unity and diversity within the community of designers and makers but also symbolises the harmony between tradition and innovation in craftsmanship.
“I found Barry and the team at Red Man Media to be fully engaged and understood the design dictates of each and every project. They have a close understanding of the diversity in the craft & design sector in the county and have generated items that reflect the quality and talent within the network.”
